About Zoom Arts Gallery

Primarily, a self-funding, self-managing diverse collective of practices from creative people, this small charity is directed by a board of trustees who chair monthly meetings which are open for all members to contribute too. At the meetings, we manage group admin, work on the diary and generating new ideas. The activities of the group are financed through fundraising and from a small monthly membership fee which is the only fee collected by the group – exhibitions are included.

As well as exhibitions, members of the group are regularly present at community cause events, raising the profile of both the group and the cause being promoted.

History of Zoom Arts

Established and experienced local group which was first set up to encourage the production and showing of new work by emerging artists and photographers.

The group was re launched in September 2013 as Zoom Arts, and staged its third exhibition under this name, at The Stade, Hastings in September 2014.

Many of the current members are higher education students at Sussex Coast College, others come from a rich diversity of backgrounds. Members work in a variety of media including sculpture, textiles, mixed media, ceramics, painting and drawing, printing, sound, film, installation, and a range of approaches to photography.

Our aim is to give a platform to local artists in which to showcase their work.

As a group we meet once a month to discuss possibilities to exhibit, upcoming events, members work and any other business.
